In response to the recommendations of the Review Report of the Task Force on School-Based Management (SBM) Policy, and to support serving and potential Incorporated Management Committee (IMC) supervisors and managers in deepening their understanding of school operations, the Education Bureau (EDB) has commissioned The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) to provide the Thematic Seminars and Workshops for School Managers for the 2026/27 school year.
Thematic Seminars
The thematic seminars aim to help school supervisors and managers understand key issues affecting school operations, recognise their roles and responsibilities in formulating school-based policies, and consider directions for school development. The seminars cover two topics: ‘Major Statutory Requirements in Relation to School Operation: Mandatory Reporting of Child Abuse Ordinance’ and ‘AI Education and Digital Education’. The former introduces relevant legal requirements and responsibilities, principles for handling suspected child abuse cases, legal risks and practical considerations in formulating school policies through case studies. The latter explores recent developments and applications of AI and digital education in schools, helping school managers understand how to promote relevant initiatives and evaluate their impact on learning, teaching and student development. Training hours completed through these seminars may be counted towards the EDB's soft training targets for school supervisors and managers.
